Ask a core member to unlock the bandsaw

You must always ask permission to use the bandsaw

A core member must be in the room, within visible range, and in relatively close proximity at all times.

Is the blade good for the type of material you are cutting? Course blade for thick materials and fine blade for thin materials.

Is the machine clean? If not, clean it: unplug, open doors, clean out metal with brush and dustpan, dispose.

What is the size of my object and where is the cut?

Adjust the blade guard to the correct height. It should be about 1" above the cut

For small pieces or cuts close to the edge of parts, always use a push block.

NEVER cut with your hands directly in line wit the blade

Use switch to turn on the bandsaw

Carefully cut your part

Note that if you are slicing through an object, apply outwards, not inwards torque on the part to avoid damaging the blade

Turn off the machine
-

You must always clean up
-
Throw away any scrap parts
-
Re-lock the outlet
-
Open the doors, collect metal, and dispose properly.
